We’re pretty much all back from our summer vacations and no matter where you went, be it beach or mountain one thing is for sure: Your hair has taken a beating from the sun, wind and general laid back attitude we all have concerning our beauty maintenance when we’re on vacation. The easiest way to re-introduce strength, shine and moisture to your hair is with a hot oil treatment. And you can even use it on your scalp if it’s dry and itchy. So let’s get to it!

2. Release the crazyness!!!

(As you can see I like to live dangerously so I removed the towel and proceeded to mess up my shirt. YOLO) 5. Apply the hot oil to mid lengths and ends. 6. If your scalp is dry and itchy apply some oil on it too. 7. Comb your hair with the wide toothed comb to evenly distribute the oil. 8. Wrap your hair in a towel and let the treatment sit for 15-20 minutes (or more if you want).

CAUTION!!!READ THIS BEFORE WASHING OFF!!!
I don’t know if you’ve ever tried an oil hair treatment before and tried to shampoo it out like you would normally shampoo your hair and nothing happened! Well, let me save you a world of pain by telling you the easy way to shampoo oil out of your hair (or excess product or dirt). It has to do with the science of how shampoo works and the secret is to NOT wet your hair before shampooing. We call this a “dry shampoo” or “dry wash”.
Take the double to triple amount of shampoo that you would normally use and apply all over your scalp, mid-lengths and ends of your hair, paying special attention to the scalp. Massage the shampoo in your hair really, REALLY well, rinse really, REALLY well and do another shampoo. You’re welcome.

You can also use a couple tablespoons Epsom salts mixed in with the shampoo to help lift the oil from your hair and scalp.

While taking photos for this project, Kiko decided to get in on the action and as usual, cuteness and hilarity ensued! I just had to share the outtakes with you guys they’re too funny. Enjoy!
