Another Valentine’s Day themed craft this week!Today we’re making a different kind of tie dye in the shape of a heart!
Let’s get started!
Clockwise from top left:
- Cut out a heart on some paper, fold it in half to make it nice and symmetrical.
- Trace the heart on your shirt or wherever you want to place your tie dye with some chalk or water soluble marker.
- Fold the part of the shirt with the traced heart in half.
- Starting at the top of the heart, fold the fabric like an accordion and secure with rubber bands. Like this:
- Mix some bleach with some warm water in a plastic bowl. Dip the tied end of the shirt in the bleach mixture.
- Let it sit until you’re happy with the color. Depending on the fabric it should take about 15-20 minutes.
- Rinse the tied end, remove the rubber bands and wash with some mild soap and cool water and let dry.
Comes out pretty sweet looking huh? 🙂
