If you’ve been reading this blog for a while then you probably remember I had some issues with my gallbladder about a year and a half ago.

I expected to get better like my doctor and everyone else who had the surgery were telling me but I wasn’t…I was actually getting worse. I had indigestion almost ALL the time, got heart burn very frequently and  generally felt really bloated and very tired and sluggish…

I strongly believe in things happening for a reason and when it’s the right time for them to happen. So a couple months ago my best friend Zoe told me she started the Body Ecology Diet. It’s basically a gluten, sugar and dairy free diet that aims to re-balance the normal health and ecology of the body starting with the digestive system. It’s basically designed to repopulate your gut with friendly bacteria and get your body working the way it’s supposed to. It also helps you develop healthier eating habits like properly combining food in every meal and learning when the best time is to eat certain foods.

It’s been a little over a month and I gotta tell ya…I feel GREAT! I lost 4 kilos (about 2 pounds) the first week, my energy has been through the roof and I’m still losing weight every week and feeling amazing with every day that goes by.

One of the problems of this diet though is that in the first phase when your body is cleansing and getting back into balance the foods you can eat and drink are not that limited but it’s been a challenge finding recipes online that help with making daily meals a little bit more imaginative.

So I decided to take matters into my own two hands and will start sharing my own B.E.D. friendly recipes. I’ve already started with the Spicy Tilapia recipe and will continue with more delicious ones in the future as well as revisiting some old favorites!

If you’re on the B.E.D. diet I hope you try my recipes and let me know what your favorite ones are in a comment below.

Here’s to a healthier life!
