If you too can’t get enough but are concerned about nasty ingredients then I have the DIY for you! Today I’m going to show you how to make your own micellar water for gently removing your makeup and cleansing your face.
You will need:
- witch hazel
- vegetable glycerin
- almond oil
- facial wash or gentle soap
- distilled water
- measuring cup
- glass bottle
- coffee filter
- funnel
1. Combine 1/2 cup warm distilled water with 1/2 cup witch hazel, 1/2 teaspoon glycerin and 1/2 teaspoon face wash and stir well.
2. Stir in 1/8 teaspoon lecithin and 1/8 teaspoon oil.
3. Allow to sit for 20 minutes.
While you’re waiting here’s how and why micellar water works in removing makeup:
Micellar water is made up of micelles (tiny balls of cleansing oil molecules) suspended in soft water. “The idea is that micelles are attracted to dirt and oil, so they are able to draw out impurities without drying out the skin. Therefore, micellar water can be used as a facial wash, makeup remover and moisturizer all in one. source
4.Strain into a glass bottle using the funnel lined with a coffee filter and store in the fridge. Decant a little each time for use.
See you soon!
