I think this is probably the first year I’ve actually sat down and written my new year resolutions. And it’s definitely the first year I’m sharing them here (it’s kind of one of them)

So in no particular order, here are my new year resolutions:

1. Get organised

I have no problem being super organised when it comes to my cyber/digital and professional life.
But when it comes to my home, my stuff and especially my clothes (see resolution number 4 below for more on that) I am hopelessly all over the place.
But is it really hopeless? That’s what I plan on finding out this year. Can I be more organised and retrain myself to do so? I think organisation is something you need to keep working on and of course I will be sharing my progress with you guys.

2.Switch off once a week (or more)

I’m addicted to screens. There, I said it.
I feel I’m extremely blessed to have a father who is so into technology that he sat me down in front of a computer when I was only three years old BUT what that means is that being in front of a computer screen is like breathing to me. I feel like I can’t live without it. I.am.addicted.
So this year I will try to at least once a week stay away from the computer and any kind of screen for that matter (mobile phone and tablet included!). We’ll see how that one goes cause it’s a bigie.
File0067 3.Carve out time for music practice every day

Late last year I started a band and even though I wasn’t really sure of how it was going to sound exactly or who was going to be in it, I was sure about one thing. I was not going to be another chick singer standing there just looking pretty like so many girls in so many other bands out there. So I thought I would take advantage of my (limited) musical education and learn how to play the guitar. I’m not going to go into a lot of detail here cause this could be a whole post in itself so let’s just say this year I will be carving out time to practice my music everyday.

Hair.com

Kind of like resolution number 1 but not quite. I basically want to train myself to do what my mother has been nagging me to do for years.Put my things, and mainly my clothes away! You might laugh and thinks this is a silly resolution but it’s starting to really become a problem for me. When you have so much stuff like I do, leaving things out can lead to mountains of things all over the place and I just don’t want the energy blockage I feel it creates anymore.
So time to deal with it. And give some satisfaction to my mom while doing it!

5.Simplify

Mainly my home life. And that to me, means getting rid of clutter and unnecessary things. I tend to hoard things, supplies(as most crafters do) and clothes so I think it’s time for some clearing out. I hope this will also help with number 1 and number 4 too!

6.Meditation & Exercise

The past two years have been great for me spiritually. I really got in touch with what I believe and how I want to practice my spirituality. Meditation is a big part of that and this year I want to take it further and really nail down a solid daily routine.
Exercise on the other hand has not been so easy lately. I used to be very active when I was younger but it kind of fizzled out over time. So I’ll try to get back into some kind of exercise routine this year even if it’s just taking Kiko for longer walks every day. Gotta start somewhere right?

extra blogging resolutions:

  1. Don’t be afraid to expose more of my personal life on the blog.
  2. Craft and create more!

Did you even bother making any resolutions this year? How do you plan to stay on track? 2014-01-12 17.26.51 thanks for stopping by!
