I bought these studs aaaaages ago and they’ve been staring at me BEGGING to be used!
So the other day I had an epiphany! Studded high tops!
So here’s a quick tutorial on how YOU TOO can make them yourself 🙂
You will need:
1.A pair of high tops
2.Spray paint (optional)
3.Studs (I had two different sizes)
4.Thick round elastic
5.Scissors
6.A pair of pliers AND
you might want to keep a thimble around(trust me you’ll see why)
Step 1
This step is optional!
Spray the white parts of the shoes (sole and toe) with the spray paint.
I used black paint but you could do whatever color you want or skip this step and while the shoes unpainted.
Step 2
Start arranging your studs on the side of the shoe,
pushing in and using the pliers to close the ends on the inside
Step 3
Keep going until:
a) you like the pattern
b)you want to shoot yourself
(studding is NOT an easy thing to do, let me tell you)
c)your fingers are so sore you can’t go on
(this is why you need the thimble!)
Step 4
Start lacing your shoes.
Start at the toe and do a double knot at the ends
so that you have no tying up to do when you wear your shoes.
YAY slip-ons!
Now go ROCK your new shoes!!!
P.S. I only did the outside sides of both shoes, I decided my sanity was too precious to keep going!!!
See you soon!
